SCAM ALERT: Maryland Judiciary warns of text scams about parking and toll violations in Baltimore City District Court
The Maryland Judiciary is warning the public about a variety of text scams that appear to reference a judge’s name and directs recipients to report to the District Court in Baltimore City to pay parking or toll violations or face penalties. The current scam directs people to report to the District Courthouse, Wabash Avenue, 5600 Wabash Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215, on April 2 at 9 a.m. This is a scam.
These texts, or any variations of it, are a scam, and recipients should not click the links, scan QR codes, nor provide any payment or personal information. Maryland courts do not send texts requesting payment or personal information via text, telephone, or email.
