Rural Maryland Council Seeks Input Through Rural Resident Needs Survey

Queen Anne’s County residents are encouraged to share their experiences and priorities by participating in the Rural Resident Needs Survey, an effort designed to help identify the needs of rural communities across Maryland.

The survey was developed by the Schaefer Center for Public Policy at the University of Baltimore on behalf of the Rural Maryland Council (RMC), an independent agency within the Maryland Department of Agriculture. RMC serves residents in Maryland’s 18 counties classified as rural, including Queen Anne’s County, as well as residents in semi-rural areas throughout the state.

Feedback from residents will help inform RMC’s legislative and funding priorities, including the Rural Maryland Capacity Building Fund and two grant programs: the Maryland Agricultural Education and Rural Development Assistance Fund (MAERDAF) and the Rural Maryland Prosperity Investment Fund (RMPIF).

The survey takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary and confidential. No personally identifying information, including names, will be collected, and participants may skip any question or stop the survey at any time.

Residents are encouraged to take this opportunity to share what matters most to them and help provide a clearer picture of the needs, challenges and priorities facing Maryland’s rural communities.
